Selected work in Passive House construction, energy modeling, and building performance analysis.
Over the past 15+ years, we’ve supported residential and multi-unit projects through a combination of energy modeling, envelope strategy, and hands-on construction experience — helping teams make smarter decisions early and improve long-term building performance.
Wakefield Sustainable Housing Study — Québec
Led a building performance study for a planned multi-unit residential development to evaluate energy use, window performance, and envelope design before construction.
Scope included:
- energy modeling
- window heat-loss analysis
- wall system optimization
- moisture risk review
- emissions and carbon assessment
- cost vs performance recommendations
The study helped guide early design decisions to improve efficiency, durability, and long-term value, including reducing embodied carbon through lower-impact material choices such as wood fiber insulation.
Wilson House — Energy & Emissions Analysis
Prepared a detailed performance report using PHPP and embodied carbon tools to evaluate whole-building energy demand and construction emissions.
Work included:
- heating demand modeling
- energy cost forecasting
- component heat-loss breakdown
- material and emissions comparisons
The result was a data-driven design approach balancing comfort, efficiency, and life cycle impact.
Elsipogtog First Nation Housing — Performance Analysis Support
Contributed energy and emissions analysis in support of housing design decisions, focusing on envelope performance, durability, and long-term efficiency.
This work included building performance evaluation, material impact review, and cost-efficiency recommendations to help guide sustainable housing strategies.
Arden River House — Passive House Target Achieved
Supported the design and energy modeling of a high-performance residence targeting Passive House standards.
Work included:
- PHPP energy modeling
- window specification optimization
- envelope detailing
- performance strategy
The final design achieved a modeled heating demand of approximately 15 kWh/m² per year, meeting Passive House performance targets.
Le Bélvédère — High-Performance Construction Experience
Contributed carpentry and building assembly work on Le Bélvédère, an early Passive House–oriented commercial project in Wakefield, Québec.
This hands-on experience provided practical knowledge of airtightness detailing, high-performance assemblies, and the realities of building low-energy structures on site.
Additional project experience available upon request.
